Me and Latias: Chapter 2

Me and Latias Chapter 2: Transformation.

As I woke the next morning I couldn't help but think something was off, I felt slightly different in some way or another, but I ignored it and looked at Latias. She was breathing softly while her arms were wrapped me in a hug I was sure would wake her up if I tried too hard to free myself. I gently inched myself away from her so I could get my arms free, and I slowly stroked her forehead while repeating "Latias, Latias, time to wake up, sleepyhead" eventually, she opened one of her shining golden eyes and smiled. But then I heard "Good morning" from seemingly out of nowhere. "What? whoa, what?" I said as I frantically looked around for the source of the noise, and then I heard Latias giggle at me. It was such a joy to hear her giggle so cheerfully, I practically melted inside when I heard it. But aside from that, I looked at her with an odd look that said 'What? What is it?' Then I heard the voice again "Well, for starters" it said as Latias suddenly hugged me "That voice your hearing is my telepathic voice" At this Latias paused and started nuzzling me. "And second" She said "Your ears don't really match your head anymore" I Looked at Latias confused "What are you talking about?" I said as I fumbled through my stuff for a mirror, "What could you possibly mean by tha-" I stopped, I had found a mirror, and in my reflection; I saw that I now had ears just like Latias.

I could only stare in shock at my reflection, I couldn't believe it, I had ears just like Latias, and they were exactly the same as hers so I couldn't be mistaking it for Latios. I reached my hand up to my head and felt them, they were real alright. I saw Latias' reflection slowly come into view on the mirror, and she rested her head on my shoulder "Aww, you don't need to be so shocked" She said in a soothing tone "It's not that bad" Unfortunately for me, that wasn't the case. What'll happen if my parents see me like this? Or worse, if I change further?
Latias could sense my worried nature and spoke to me "Are you alright?" She asked "I didn't know that was going to happen to you" I could easily tell that she was scared of what I might do if I was angry about this. I slowly reached out a hand to her, and through the reflection of the mirror, I saw Latias flinch wildly, expecting me to strangle her. But instead, as soon as my hand made contact with her head, I felt something briefly snap inside mine, and I lifted her head up and suddenly kissed her before holding her tightly. I could feel tears welling up in my eyes, and Latias could quite easily tell what the cause was and asked "You love me, don't you?"
After 5-10 minutes of hugging Latias, I lead her out to the kitchen and told her to wait while I got something for both of us to eat. Eventually I came back with a bowl of cereal for myself and a bit of fruit for Latias, which I could tell she enjoyed because she chirped happily and nuzzled me when she was finished.

After breakfast, I decided to show Latias around the house, it wasn't a small house, but it did seem a little cramped when moving through it, thank god for high ceilings. There wasn't much to show her, mainly, the living room, which was connected to the living and dining rooms, the study, and the other bedrooms. I couldn't help but notice when I had finished that Latias was looking at me with a somewhat amused face. I was going to ask what was up, but before I could, I suddenly got caught in the doorway, after I managed to get through, I looked myself over and gasped, I now had wings like Latias' sticking out of the lower half of my back.
I felt faint and the whole world seemed to spin, and I lost my balance. But I was caught by Latias before I could hit the ground "are you okay?" she asked while nuzzling my softly "Ugh" I responded "What am I going to do? This is about as screwed up as the time I was asked to be in a water balloon fight but the balloons were filled with flour." Despite Latias' somewhat disapproving look, she still held me close to her and began to purr softly "It's alright" She said to me in that wondrous soothing tone "I'm here for you, don't you worry." With this, she kissed me again, and held it there for a full twenty five seconds before her face parted from mine and then picked me up somehow, and carried me back to my bed. And then laid me there and brought the sheets over both of us.
As I drifted off once again, I felt Latias rest her head on my chest. "You have a very soothing heart beat" She said softly, and then we both drifted off into sleep.

As I awoke a few hours later, I decided to check and see if I had changed any further than when I had fallen asleep. I picked up the mirror and slowly brought it to my face; I noticed that I hadn't changed at all. I even checked my whole body and didn't see a thing different. "Wow" I thought to myself "If I can figure out how to hide these things, I might be able to slip past my parents and even go back to school without worrying about being considered a freak."

Unfortunately, things didn't quite go as planned. While I DID manage to keep my parents from noticing Latias or either of my new bodily changes (Which I was somehow able to change back to human through some intense willpower), what happened on Monday wasn't a very good thing. During the last day of school, as I sat at my desk at the far back of the class, I felt a strange itch on my left ear, but when I tried to scratch it, it just seemed to get worse and worse until it began to become pain rather than an itch. Then suddenly I screamed out in pain as I felt my arms suddenly began to change shape, I looked down as I saw them change into paws just like Latias', then I felt my ears suddenly grew longer, and then my body widened and wings shot out of my back, and then I felt the weirdest pain I'd ever felt before as my legs disintegrated right before my eyes.

The whole class could only look on in shock and amusement as I slowly transformed into a Latias, but then, once the transformation had finished, I felt myself shrink until I was the same size of what anyone who knew would call a 'baby Latias'. Not only did I feel embarrassed and humiliated, I couldn't help but wonder what Latias would think of me now.
But right then, speak of the devil, Latias actually flew into the room and grabbed me in her arms and flew off. As Latias flew through the air with me in her arms, I couldn't help but feel safe with her, as I began to drift off into sleep, I heard Latias say to me "don't fall asleep just yet, I need to show you to your parents". At this I suddenly began to freak out, my parents couldn't learn about Latias I needed her to stay with me. I opened my mouth to speak, but the only sounds that came out were just a few cute little babbling sounds. I had forgotten how to speak. "Don't you worry" Latias said to me as I began to get upset from the stress and scariness of it all "Your parents came into your room during the day and found me while I was sleeping on your bed, after they calmed down I told them everything, including what happened to you. They said I could stay with you as long as I brought you back home today to try and keep what happened from happening. Obviously I was too late" She began to rock me in her arms and hum an incredibly soothing tune to me; it was so peaceful, so beautiful, that I quickly began to doze off, and then, I did. And I heard Latias say "I guess I'm taking parent duty now" Before I was fast asleep.
